The city of Quincy is approximately 7 miles southeast of downtown Boston. It is densely settled with over 90,000 residents. It has a rich Native American, colonial, and industrial history and a wide range of natural environments (upland and bottomland forests, marshes, swamps, ponds, vernal pools, meadows, bogs, islands, rivers, estuaries, and 27 miles of coastline). The Quincy Green Map is a resource for learning and sharing information about Quincy's unique environment. With a map of Quincy’s natural,cultural, and sustainable living resources, residents and visitors can make connections between their own lives and those resources.
