The copse of Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) includes Tainan Science Park and Kaohsiung Science Park. Tainan Science Park is situated between Sinshih, Shanhua and Anding townships of Tainan County with a total area of 2,565 acres. Kaohsiung Science Park is situated between Lujhu, Gangshan and Yong-an townships of Kaohsiung County with a total area of 1,409 acres.

Three flood deterring ponds covered with natural and floating water plants offer some habitats for bird and insect. Three flood function of the deterring pond can experience the science and technology park outside the ecological beauty. The ecological protection area is a place to promote low lands or plain ecosystem conservation, and provide opportunities and environments needed for nature education to the general public.

南部科學工業園區是台灣最熱門的高科技產業專業區，園區所在地有豐富的文化遺址及平原生態。台南園區擁有保護區、3個滯洪池等多樣的環境類型，具備豐富而多樣的生態，能作為園區員工及臨近學校作為自然觀察之戶外教學場域。
本會長期進行本區的生態調查，希望透由編製綠色生活地圖介紹園區生物多樣性、人文與生活等多元風貌，作為環境教育推廣的媒介，讓豐富的生態、生活、文化適度地展現在大家面前，「復育、保育、教育」三育並行之典範。
