Belfast Eco-map endeavours to:
Map individual and collective initiatives of local and regional sustainable and environmental activity within the
Belfast and greater Belfast areas
Enable a sharing , understanding and sustainable approache to our Local/Global natural heritage that supports and protects our Ecosystem.
Empower and update communities of learning within the Belfast and greater Belfast areas through education and information initiatives on environment and sustainability.
This is achieved through:
Registering, Designing and Establishing the Belfast Eco-map.
Making the Belfast Eco-map clear, accessable and open to all.
Inviting interested groupings especially voluntary, non profit, creative/cultural and educational bodies, concerned about environment and sustainability, to engage with Eco-maping.
Vision Statement
The overall vision for the Belfast Eco-map is to;
Establish an inter-networking resource for communities and organizations in Belfast and greater Belfast areas and beyond to become engaged and informed about sustainability and their environment.
Clearly demonstrate that there is a concern and interest in environment and sustainability within the Belfast and greater Belfast areas, providing frameworks towards sustainable living, and individual and community learning.
Make available locally, regionally and globally information concerning environment and sustainability in Belfast and the greater Belfast areas.
Provide information capable of being developed to protect and enhance the Belfast and greater Belfast bioregion as sustainable enterprise locally as well as part of the global system.
