Rochester Green Map is a project of PLANT Rochester. PLANT – Place, Land, Art & Agriculture, Neighbors and Technology is an initiative of the George Eastman House (GEH) and Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo). PLANT is inspired by artist Lauren Bon’s Not A Cornfield project and its ongoing offshoot Farmlab, an L.A. based collaborative that is dedicated to nurturing life in the urban environment. PLANT is a the community wide cultural initiative that will function as a hub for citizens to share actions and ideas related to urban land use, urban greening and public health.

Statement of Purpose

One of PLANT's goals is to lead numerous community partners in the Green Mapping Process. The resulting Green Map of Rochester will function as a resource for the City Government (will supply GIS data to PLANT), community groups and citizens. The map will be primarily available to the public via websites. When funding allows, a print map will be created.
