Green Map Eindhoven on internet (2000)
The core of this project was formed by interactive workshops with residents about the content of the GreenMap. Map making became a matter for many more people within the city. The result was an easy navigable internet-based Green Map. As the GreenMap fits well in the vision of Eindhoven as a sustainable city, further development and management of the map will be developed in close cooperation with the city government.
As a follow up and at the same time a starting point for scaling up the initiative, a Green Map seminar was held in 2001. During the seminar, representatives of NGO’s and local businesses came to the conclusion that they both suffer from the same type of communicational problems: businesses do a lot for environment and society, but still get the blame for everything; while grassroots organisations are not able to promote the quality of nature and landscape in the city, resulting in an everlasting threat to further degradation. However, this has not led to a continuation of the Green Map project in Eindhoven so far.
