The global purpose of the Sylvania Area Green Map Project is to cultivate and diversify the environmental movement worldwide and to use our knowledge to promote a healthy, sustainable planet. The project was initiated by a local teacher primarily to encourage students to get involved with the community's natural and human built environment. Green Mapping will help students/citizens understand the community's interdependent environmental, social, and economic systems.
